Well today could've gone a lot worse!
I didn't expect to feel good after some hard training yesterday but I felt great!
It was quite a difficult race to ride due to the couple of big teams with 9 riders! So when they were sending riders off 1 by 1, I was trying to follow each attack. In the first 40 minutes I followed everything that went in hope that we'd get a decent gap and stay away to the finish. Unfortunately the combination of riders in the moves didn't seem to work for the guys behind as each move was chased down. I managed to win myself £20 in the second prime which almost payed for my entry!
Anyway cutting a long - not very interesting - story short a break went and I wasn't in it. After numerous attempts to cross the gap it was clear the group was away until the finish. I played about in a few other moves before the finish before getting clear with 2 to go finishing about 10 meters in front of the bunch. Which only got me 18th. Not a great result but I was really happy with how I was feeling.
Turns out I didn't make my long, not very interesting story that much shorter...
Also, the new bike felt great! Which is always a bonus. The new lower bars feel x10 better.
Relaxing now watching the Giro stage that climbs Mt.Etna! Hoping for some aggressive exciting racing!
This week now consists of; an easy day tomorrow, 2-3 hours Tuesday morning with a crit or tt in the evening and then a good 4 hours on Wednesday.
I hope to travel to the Ras on Thursday to have time to relax before 8 days of torture!
Adios
Felix
