We had a ride planned with the Spanish group we rode with last time we were on the island.
We couldn't really remember the meeting spot, so we met up with one of Andy's friends Ken who once again helped us out and took us off in the right direction.
Another good turn out of 60+ guys and the carnage began! Due to the heavy rain yesterday and the early start today - on the road by 7.45am - the roads were still soaked, and here in Majorca the road are known to be deadly when wet. This wasn't slowing down the crazy Spaniards and we kept trucking into towns, round bends, towards oncoming cars and similiar mad things in order to give eachother a kicking!
There weren't any crashes, SOME HOW!
The early start meant I felt pretty shitty to start with, but after being dragged along by some guy on a full TT rig with double tri-spokes (on a training spin!) I soon felt human.
Myself and Martyn pushed on after 45 minutes and over the top of one of the climbs it was down to around 15 guys. This is the point we were thankfull to have some company as it was a blowing a gale!
We carried on with the same guys up until the 2 hour mark, when they stopped at a cafe. We carried on our ride home and we finished up with a nice 4.15 hours, 32.8 km/h average and around 85 miles.
Happy days!
The sun came out after we got back and we enjoyed a chilled out afternoon and our regular bocadillo.
Tomorrow we have another 4 hours. Hopefully the weather is good and we can have another enjoyable ride!
